Polyphony Stories
An Evening of Music and Storytelling Around the Fire
Book Launch & Acoustic Concert by Nadeeka Guruge
A Homecoming of Sound and Story
On the cool evening of 30th October 2025, the highland town of Nuwara Eliya, where many of these stories are set, and where their author was born, will come alive with music, words, and warmth.
Nadeeka Guruge returns to his hometown to launch Polyphony Stories, a collection that listens to the voices of the hills, the rain, and the people who live between them. Most of these stories are rooted in Nuwara Eliya's landscapes, its silence, mist, and memory, making this launch not only a celebration of a book but a homecoming of sound and story.
Gathered around a fire, the evening will unfold as an intimate acoustic concert and storytelling session, blending literature, conversation, and live music. Each song echoes a story; each story carries the rhythm of a song.
"In Polyphony Stories, Guruge reflects on how lives, like melodies, interweave into harmony and dissonance. This evening, part concert, part dialogue, part quiet ritual beneath the mountain sky — invites all who listen to rediscover the music hidden in memory."
